Golder Associates Inc. is currently seeking a CAD Designer Intern to work out of our Walnut Creek, CA office. This Individual’s primary focus will be to deliver Engineering Design Drawing Packages. This includes proficiency in operation of Microstation and ability to operate Auto CADD programs, development of drawing sets, and coordination with engineers and other designers to deliver design drawing sets.

Responsibilitieswill include, but not limited to:

  • Works with project engineers,project designer, and other designers to deliver projects under guidanceof CAD Manager.

  • Learn and follow theappropriate/applicable design/drafting standards

  • Produce mechanical and pipinglayouts, sections, and isometrics. Develop General arrangements, designdetails, and layout of equipment such as pumps, tanks, heaters, vessels,etc.

  • Prepare PFD, P&ID drawings, andother mechanical schematics used in facility design

  • Understand and develop mechanicaldesign drawings using knowledge of P&ID’s, equipment, piping,construction, underground and above ground utilities, surveys, andintegration with civil, structural, and electrical designs

  • Develop and maintain base files forinformation used to complete facility designs

  • Ensure technicalquality of developed designs.


  • Ability to operate Auto CAD

  • Pursuing a technical degree in CADdesign or equivalent

  • Strong written and verbalcommunication skills

  • Strong time management skills

  • Ability to work both independentlyand on teams

  • An active focus on health andsafety for themselves and others
