Golder has an opportunity for Human Resources Leader to be based in our Johannesburg office.
Reporting to the HR Leader, Global Mining, this position is a business partner to the Country Manager and ultimately accountable for HR operational delivery in Africa. The HR leader is accountable for delivering excellence with regards to HR operational performance, and fit-for-purpose, simple and cost effective solutions to more complex business issues relating to HR. With the Global Mining HR Leader and the Country Manager, the HR Leader designs and implements an effective HR organization to serve the needs of the country/region.
Duties & Responsibilities Include:
Develop, implement, and report progress on the annual HR business plan for Africa, based on the global and regional HR objectives
Accountable for HR operational delivery in Africa, maintaining a regional cost effective HR structure to serve the business, being hands-on in HR projects and tasks where needed
Acts as HR business partner to the leadership team(s), providing timely and effective solutions to complex business matters relating to HR
Ensures that Africa HR team (imbedded HR) remains close to the business and provides a high degree of customer satisfaction to both leadership, P&A communities, and employees
Provides mentorship, guidance, advice, training and support to business leaders and local HR teams
Ensure that the Employment Equity Plan (EEA2) is submitted to the DOL on time, avoiding any late submission fines
Identifying Employment Equity quota requirements and advising line managers on status of compliance to targets
Contribute to BEE initiatives & adhere to BEE requirements within the sector
Ensures that HR related practices within region are working in harmony with global standards and within region, and that consolidation of policies, practices and services occurs where practical
Is responsible for local HR staff performance reviews and goal/target setting, and periodically reviews and/or audits local HR practices to ensure compliance with local laws and corporate standards within assigned region
Establishes and maintains an effective system of communication throughout the region on HR matters with regional stakeholders regarding global and regional HR related initiatives; travels within assigned region as necessary to build stakeholder alignment and support
Handling specific tasks, which may include, but are not limited to: key hires; transfers; onboarding of key staff; preparing HR notes for internal webpage; etc.
