We are currently recruiting for a Global Account Leader for our Mining business, based either in Perth, Melbourne or Brisbane. The successful candidate will unite and strengthen our global team of mining experts and key professionals to solidify and expand our existing relationships, as well as develop project opportunities within our client organization.

Key duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Working with our global team and Golder’s Mining business leadership to develop and deliver client account strategy and tactics, reflecting deep understanding of our client organization and their strategic priorities;

  • Building and coordinating Golder relationships with identified client organization and assist with leadership of business opportunities across their global operations, intelligence, and information gathering/sharing;

  • Helping develop account relationships and function as a central “connector”;

  • Managing risks through coordinating early project evolution (qualified project managers and teams with suitable contracts and training);

  • Monitoring Client Satisfaction and mobilize the optimum resources to solve client challenges;

  • Developing and Implementing annual business plan and budget for the client relationship that delivers value to Golder and the client;

  • Meeting regularly with your team to review actions, opportunities and plan next steps including client-facing meetings;

  • Establishing and maintain effective working relationships with key client executives;

  • Understanding and help align our services with client policies and procedures;

  • Coordinating business development activities occurring through ongoing client relationships;

  • Leading the sales activities and business initiatives for new services and where existing relationships do not exist;/

  • Developing and/or maintain master services agreements and contracts and coordinate these across projects and geographies;

  • Establishing multi-level relationships with client organization. Facilitate and incubate relationships for others;

  • Working with client, technical and project teams to identify, assist with and support Client Service needs; and

  • Fulfill reporting requirement of Golder management (quarterly and annual client development reports).

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • Technical and/or Business Degree combined with 20 years in business leadership and technical roles.

  • Ideally consulting experience in the mining industry at a senior level, within a major mining company, where you have gained a deep understanding of the organization and its connectivity;

  • 10 years in building and managing client relationships, with experience managing enterprise level accounts and using a CRM system or tool to share and manage opportunities and account information;

  • Business management, including business and financial acumen, strategic vision and planning capabilities and an understanding of the fundamentals of project management;

  • Suitable experience to coach and mentor account team members and project managers for large and complex projects;

  • Communications and relationship building, including an understanding of team dynamics, trust and relationship building, networking, meeting facilitation and conflict resolution;

  • International postings within the mining or the consulting industry;

  • Sales experience within the consulting services context, and previous experience managing multi-million dollar projects;

  • An understanding of industry including the drivers of global, multi-commodity mineral resources business and the basic technical elements of Golder’s environmental and engineering business areas;

  • Public speaking experience is an asset.
