Golder has a new opportunity for an intermediate environmental Hydrogeologist to join our Contaminated Sites team on a fulltime basis, based in Perth.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
Hydrogeological assessment and planning for thepurpose of contaminated sites investigations including drilling programmes,surface water and groundwater sampling, aquifer hydraulic testing anddevelopment of hydrogeological conceptual models.
Site remediation and validation including contractorsupervision and implementation of soil and groundwater remediation methods.
Data management, interpretation and reporting forphased environmental site assessments and remediation.
Interpretation of hydrogeological andgeochemical data from contaminated sites.
Project management of contaminated sites projects ofsmall to medium sized projects or task management of hydrogeological orgeochemical tasks and elements within a larger scale project.
Technical report writing and contribution to proposalsand deliverables.
Supervise the work of technicians and juniorprofessional staff on site.
Mentor, train and transfer knowledge to colleagues.
Carry out tasks as assigned by varying ProjectManagers, including effective task management.
Safety leadership in identifying andalleviating/eliminating high priority safety hazards.
Duties will include both field andoffice tasks.
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
A bachelor’s degree or higher in Earth orEnvironmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline. A master’s degree in a related field would bean advantage.
A robust understanding of contaminanthydrogeology and/or geochemistry.
Ability to communicate complexinformation to stakeholders of various background.
Certified Environmental Practitioner (CEnvP), orworking towards.
Understanding of regulations and guidelines applicableto contaminated sites assessments.
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbalcommunication skills is a must. Reportwriting is one aspect of this role.
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and within a teamenvironment.
Good time management skills and the ability tomulti-task and prioritise.
Ability to supervise and direct contractors includingdrillers, surveyors, remediation / demolition contractors etc.
A willingness to learn and share knowledge in a teamenvironment
