Golder has a new opportunity for a highly motivated Principal Water Resource Engineer to join our Mine Water team on a full-time basis, based in our Perth office.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
Develop and maintain client relationships and build business. Primary focus will be on Tier 1, Tier 2 and selected Tier 3 mining clients. Some relationships with non-mining clients will be required in conjunction with our colleagues in the geography.
Understand and interpret the national and local market, highlighting prospects and stewarding them to opportunities and proposals.
Support the implementation of the APAC-EMEA Mine Water strategy.
Provide high-level technical advice to internal and external clients within the areas of mine closure, mine water management and erosion and sediment control.
Build reputation as Technical Leader/Lead Consultant and liaise with specialists from other disciplines or offices within Golder Associates so as to offer a consistent mine water service Globally.
Lead teams in delivery of water management advice to clients across a range of industry sectors including mining, oil and gas, infrastructure and waste management.
Manage projects including project scoping, budget control, planning, development of schedules and coordination of resources to meet completion deadlines.
Keep abreast of advancing technologies, methods and research & development.
Mentor and coach employees with respect to their career growth and technical professional development and actively transfer knowledge.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
A bachelor degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Earth Science, or related discipline.
Registered Chartered Professional, or a willingness to work towards chartered status and a member of a related professional body preferable.
Demonstrated experience in the consulting industry (with extensive experience in mine Water management) and demonstrated business acumen.
Proficient project management skills including budgeting, scheduling activities and service delivery.
Strong Health, Safety, Safety and Environment focus.
High level of verbal and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
Advanced analytical and problem solving skills.
Client relationship and business development skills.
Experience in mentoring of staff.
