Due to recently securing a number of key projects, we are looking for an experienced Intermediate/Senior level Tailings/Mine Waste Engineer who would like to progress to an Engineer of Record (EoR) role. We will support the successful candidate in their transition to an EoR role through exposure to our existing Principal Tailings Engineers and EoRs.
As the Deputy EoR or EoR, the successful candidate will contribute to and lead mine waste teams to complete a variety of tailings storage facility design, analysis, and construction tasks for all phases of the mine life cycles.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
Technicaldirection or provision of input to tailings design studies and related analyses;
Assessingand understanding credible failure modes and how they apply to specifictailings storage facilities;
Providingrecommendations in the area of tailings and mine waste management to clients;
Providingsenior technical input and guidance to project teams and ensuring that appropriatetechnical standards are developed and maintained by regional teams;
Projectmanagement, budgeting and quality control for tailings, mine waste, heap leachand similar assignments;
Leadershipof multi-disciplinary project teams on local, regional and internationalconsulting assignments;
Buildingand maintaining business networks and effective client relationships togenerate consulting business; and
Deliveringbest practice consulting services to clients in Australia and overseas.
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
Qualified Civil/Mining Engineer or similar, with a relevant post graduate degree in either business or a relevant technical discipline would be looked upon favourably;
To be in a Deputy EoR role, we require at least 7 years of experience working on tailings/mine waste related projects locally or internationally, ideally in a consulting environment;
Ability to work independently and within multi-disciplinary project teams;
Excellent communication, stakeholder management and report writing skills; and
Hold a valid working visa in Australia and a current manual drivers licence
