Golder Associates GIS Analyst in Western Australia, Australia

Golder has a new opportunity for a GIS Analyst to join our team on a permanent basis based in Perth. You will be involved in a variety of challenging multidisciplinary projects and collaborative with a high performing team to deliver successfully to our clients.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Using GIS software (predominately ESRI) for database construction and maintenance; data collection, validation and formatting; performing spatial analysis and modelling;

  • Providing support related to the management of field data and laboratory results which may include tracking of data, administration of existing databases, and the analysis, design and creation of new databases;

  • Preparing technical figures for inclusion in reports;

  • Providing technical support, assisting end users with technical issues and questions;

  • Identifying and documenting technical solutions to spatial information problems;

  • Assisting with conducting quality control on databases to ensure standards are adhered to; and

  • Supporting stakeholders in data modelling and database optimization.

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

  • Possessing or working towards a/or degree/diploma qualified in GIS, Environmental Science, Computer Science, or related field is preferred, as is experience within a consulting environment;

  • 2 years’ experience using GIS based software applications (predominantly ESRI) is mandatory;

  • Technical training and experience in database management systems (ESDAT software package) preferred;

  • Experience with integrating CADD design files in GIS (e.g. FME);

  • High attention to detail, excellent communication and internal/external stakeholder management skills;

  • Highly motivated to provide innovative products with an ability to work independently
