Responsibilities of the role will include:
The prospective Engineer Intern will assist with various civil and geotechnical projects in our Wexford, PA office; assignment may include working collaboratively with other offices such as those in Columbus, OH, Buffalo, NY, Bristol, PA, as well as other locations across the country
Position will include both office and fieldwork on varied projects and may include learning opportunities in, but not necessarily be limited to, civil/geotechnical engineering design, permitting, and construction quality assurance (CQA) inspection; geotechnical investigations, analyses, and instrumentation; and other civil engineering projects
Office assignments may include performing and checking engineering calculations associated with geotechnical/civil design, preparing components of engineering calculation packages using Microsoft Office Suite, utilizing specialty geotechnical software, and assisting in the preparation of various engineering reports and documents
Field assignments may include CQA observation of new and remediation geotechnical construction projects, subsurface investigations, installing and monitoring geotechnical instrumentations, and environmental sampling
The successful candidatewill have a background in:
Qualifiedcandidates must currently be enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degreeprogram in engineering with an emphasis in civil, geotechnical, or relatedengineering field
Preferredcandidates will have excellent verbal and written communication skills,with leadership ability and a positive attitude, and the ability to workboth independently and in groups
Completionof introductory geotechnical, civil, geology, hydrology, and environmentalengineering courses would be helpful but not required
Priorco-operative education experience would also be a plus, but is notrequired, and will partially dictate work assignments
