Golder Associates is currently seeking a Senior GIS Consultant to join our team in either the Redmond, WA; Wexford (Pittsburgh area), Pennsylvania; Manchester, New Hampshire; or Pewaukee, Wisconsin office. We will also consider other US locations. In this role you will support continued development and expansion of a regionally focused environmental and engineering consulting practice. Primary duties include providing GIS programmatic support, enterprise geodatabase development, data analysis services, and field data collection support.

Candidates must have a strong understanding of environmental and engineering data, and project management. They will also possess the experience to help Golder increase implementation and utilization of our geographic information system (GIS) and other emerging digital technologies applied to engineering and environmental projects, including incorporation of 3D data processing and presentation.

GIS technology changes quickly with frequent updates to the applications offered by our software providers. The successful candidate will recognize these new technologies and promote adequate adoption of them on current and future projects. As such, a responsibility of this position would be to expand Golder’s spatial technological capabilities and support building a practice to offer digital acquisition, processing, and information delivery services to clients throughout the US with a focus in the Appalachian Basin. The position requires providing remote support to multiple regional offices.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a GIS lead to support environmental and engineering client projects and programs across the life cycle of work, including problem definition, solution development, and delivery

  • Lead and support GIS project development and delivery, which includes providing input on GIS components of client proposals, managing GIS tasks, providing senior reviews, developing technical teams, and delivering training

  • Collaborate with technical subject matter experts to obtain geospatial data requirements for client needs

  • Maintain, grow, and develop existing and new client relationships (both internal and external to Golder)

  • Work to build business opportunities with other Golder staff around the company

  • Work with regional and technical leadership and teams to develop and maintain expertise in technologies to serve key business interests

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in geography, environmental science, geology, or related discipline with a focus on GIS

  • Minimum 5 years' relevant work experience

  • Strong foundation in geodatabase development, spatial data statistics, and scripting

  • Experience with ArcGIS desktop platforms including Desktop and Pro and the ability to recognizing pros and cons in both GIS software platforms

  • 3D data integration and visualizations, including experience working with and processing LiDAR data

  • Background in ESRI field data collection applications (e.g., Collector, Field Maps, Survey123)

  • Acute attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies

  • Excellent verbal communication with strong writing and organizational skills, a positive attitude, and ability to work both independently and with a global team

  • Understanding the importance of health & safety as a top priority and an enthusiasm to participate in Golder’s associated programs

Desired:

  • Master’s degree in geography, environmental science, geology, or related discipline with a focus on GIS

  • Experience in a consulting capacity combined with operational planning experience

  • SQL Server and SDE experience are highly desirable

  • Strong background in ArcGIS Online and Portal implementation, management, and GIS web application development

  • Experience with working closely with ESRI on support and licensing issues

  • Survey123 API customization and integration with Integromat and Power Automate
